Amy (aka Jess) Brownfield and Charlie the Yellow Dog moved to Charlottesville in 2003 from Denver, Colorado, in pursuit of the American dream. After working for Local Colors, Good Paints, and training in restoration at Jefferson’s Monticello, Amy and Charlie struck out on their own. Charlie the dog proved to be useless in the painting industry, but Amy developed a passion for quality detailed work that pleased her clients. “I just love it when clients get all excited about their new look,” she says. “A new coat of interior paint can totally change the feel of a room… the right color can bring harmony to a household!”
Then of course, Jess realized the key to the American dream was to be found in beautiful Colorado. She now serves the communities of Denver, Boulder, Lakewood, Golden, Broomfield, Thornton, Westminster, Arvada, Wheat Ridge, Longmont, Littleton, and Aurora.
Amy believes that the key to a quality paint job is prep work. “Sanding, cleaning, scraping or otherwise preparing the surface will determine how long the new finish will last,” she says. “My clients can trust that my work will last.”
Amy brings strong communication skills to the job and values building a rapport with her clients. “When the job is over, I want my clients to feel 100% comfortable recommending me to their friends who need interior or exterior paint work.”
When not painting interiors or exteriors, powerwashing or staining decks, removing mold and mildew from homes, or cleaning downspouts and gutters, Amy enjoys skiing, hiking, and listening to country music. Her favorite movies are Fried Green Tomatoes, Sleepeless in Seattle, St. Elmo’s Fire, and The Big Chill.
